Logo for Kavalkád - Democratic Student Community of Eger - 2013
The mission here was to update the old logo (below) when the student community was about to change their name from Edit to Kavalkád. The new logo was supposed to be still associated to the old one, despite the name change.
I decided to keep the basic forms rectangular and the colors as near to the original ones as possible. The community promotes democracy in education, so I gave all the shapes equal size, although the color changes. All different, all equal. The Hungarian name Kavalkád means cavalcade in English, and my idea was to have a "parade of letters" included in the logo. To keep the text legible, it was better solution to make the colorful background shapes "marching", instead of shifting the baseline of individual letters.
